Proud to manufacture for the electronics sector

Throughout our daily lives, we are exposed to electrical items made using injection moulding.

Our mobile phones, toaster, coffee maker, laptops, shower heads, multiple car parts, laptops and thousands of other electrical items are all made using injection moulding.

At Nordell, we have been injection moulding specialist parts in the Electronics sector for over 5 decades and have an excellent knowledge of the requirements and accreditations required in the electronics sector. Accredited to ISO9001.

Nordell has an experienced team and the right facilities to meet the requirements of manufacturing for the electronics sector.

Our combined and in-depth knowledge of the electronics sector has led us to develop many innovative products to meet its needs.

The electronics sector demands specialist plastics critical for high or low conductivity. Nordell can help you select the right product for your requirements.

From high voltage to high volume, Nordell provides moulded and assembled products for our clients in the electronics sector.

Whether it is cable loom connector moulding, EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) & RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) cases, high precision bobbin production, or micro insertion and over moulding, the high temperature and high precision requirements are routine for our experienced team and facilities.

Nordell offers Cable assembly and over moulding, Soldering, EMI and RFI coating, sealing potting & encapsulation, magnet insertion, windowing, Electrical testing, and Assembly among its many complimentary services.

Benefits Of Using Injection Moulding

Using plastic injection moulding to make parts for electronic products has significant benefits, including:

  1. Plastic is a poor conductor of electricity and heat. So, using plastic components in electrical appliances is beneficial as a barrier between the electrical current and the end user.
  2. We can offer flame-retardant materials and coatings at Nordell as required, making electrical appliances safer. Nordell is proud to hold many accreditations, including UL94 and UL accreditation for materials*.
  3. Selecting the right polymer is essential for electrical insulation, and we will recommend plastics for appliances that contain electrical wiring.
  4. Plastic parts are long-lasting as they do not rot or corrode. We can also help you select your polymer if your part needs to operate in extreme environments or be chemical-resistant.
  5. Moulded parts are more lightweight than if made with other materials such as metal, making it a very cost-competitive way to manufacture all sorts of parts in high volume. Plastic is the ideal solution if weight reduction is critical, such as in the automotive or aerospace sectors.
  6. The plastic injection moulding process is less energy-intensive than other manufacturing processes using different materials.
  7. Plastic is hygienic as it can be wiped clean, so is ideal for electrical appliances in the medical, healthcare or food sectors.
  8. Plastic is a fast and highly repeatable way of manufacturing high-quality parts to very tight tolerances and specifications, making parts highly cost-competitive.
  9. Plastics are easily recycled after the electrical appliance is obsolete.
  10. Plastics can be moulded in thousands of different colours, shapes and finishes, making them highly desirable in the electronics market, where the end user will choose a product for functionality as well as its design and aesthetics.

*Underwriter Laboratories (UL) is one of the oldest safety certification companies. They certify products, facilities, processes or systems based on industry-wide standards. By doing so, they issue over 20 different UL certifications for a wide range of categories.
