Component Moulders was formed in 1971 to fill a niche in the market for small batch production of precision moulding. To use to best effect experience gained and to offer an optimum service to customers, the moulding facilities are supported with in-house mould design and tool making. The company grew steadily, gaining a wide customer base, predominantly in the supply of technically demanding products to aerospace, medical, automotive and more recently military applications.

In 1982 Component Moulders was acquired by Columbia International together with newly formed P B Extrusions, a plastic extrusion company which produces a range of tubes in A.B.S. and P.V.C.U. for the computer printer industry as cores for printer infeed ribbons. Their ability to service the industry supplying a high quality product at an economic price has made them the sole UK supplier. The policy has always been to expand into trade extrusion to which end they now supply such diverse extrusions as geotechnical tubes for soil analysis, to baffle plates for effluent tanks and profiles for Cash Tills.

1984 saw the formation of Business Data Supplies (B.D.S.) to market specific products manufactured by both Component Moulders and PB Extrusions for the printer ribbon industry. B.D.S. currently export throughout Europe and the Americas.

Finally, 1994 saw the company move back to private ownership when the two current owner/directors successfully completed a management buy out. Today all three companies are incorporated as Nordell Ltd.
