Finishing Supervisor

A Finishing Supervisor is responsible for the day to day running of the department, including the supervision of staff. They are expected to run the department in the Department Managers absence.

All Supervisors are expected to consider improvement and efficiencies for the department including correct usage of the ERP system.
To provide a Finishing Supervisory service and assist the Production teams with the manufacturing of parts, preparing of jigs, and fixtures.
To work to very tight deadlines and can understand engineering drawings, QA Visual Aids and Quality functions for the Department to function.
To work as a hands-on member of a team and provide technical advice and training to the Team Leaders.
Planning of Production Machines, Delegation of Staff along with assisting in maintenance and improvement projects within the Department as required.

We have temperature recognition system allowing access to the buildings, plus we have sanitising stations around the site, PPE is provided, Mask wearing is currently compulsory when moving around the business or working in close proximity

Main Duties

To Act in a Professional Manner at ALL Times.
Monitor all Cycle times and ensure they are being achieved.
To enforce safe working practices to all Manufacturing operatives and their surrounding environments including suitability of workstation set up.
Organise the Shift plan in conjunction with the Finishing Manager, ensuring the correct level of labour including cover for break times.
Ensure Correct use of the Company ERP System, Manage the Process to ensure Negative Inventory is at a minimum Level.
To have the ability to handle various tasks simultaneously and be able to adapt to changing priorities and urgencies as they arise.
Actively Manage the process for a reduction in waste and achieving 95% ATP.
Ensure ALL SOP are updated and are being used across the Shop Floor
Assess and appraise training of staff in manufacturing areas in accordance with the work instructions and assurance processes implemented by the Quality team.
Assisting with the staff one to ones, RTW. Provide Feedback in readiness for the Monthly reviews to the Manager.
To plan jobs through various stages of manufacture deciding the correct machinery and processes to be used to achieve the company stated accuracy and quality.
To operate machines if required and carry out all other activities in a safe and responsible manner and maintain a clean and tidy environment within the department.
To achieve tasks within the set time to meet departmental targets.
To carry out any other reasonable tasks as may be requested from time to time by the Finishing Manager or the Head of Production.
To observe Health and Safety regulations as laid down in company procedures and Government legislation.
Ensure ALL company directives are adhered to.
Accountable for ALL scrap reduction activities and figures.
To Implement LEAN, ensure 5’s and General Housekeeping are to the required Company Standard.
Provide Monthly reviews with ALL staff and create action plans accordingly.

SKILLS

Good general education required with numeracy and perception essential.
Experience of working in a supervisory role
 Experience of Factory working processes
Ability to work under pressure.
Problem Solver, Good Time Management and organisational skills essential.
Needs initiative in problem solving and providing solutions for manufacturing problems
High degree of concentration required.
