Production Quality Engineer

We are looking for a Production Quality Engineer to support us working in our injection moulding, assembly and cleanroom lines.

 

Full training will be provided; experience within an engineering manufacturing role is essential.

 

You will be working within our Production departments.

 

You will be required to wear Safety shoes as a minimum PPE at all times.

 

There is a long periods where you may be standing on your feet.

 

We manufacture over 4,000 different product lines in total with lots of variation within our product lines.

Schedule:

Main Duties

  • Investigating and troubleshooting quality issues.
  • Ensure Quality Documentation to support acceptance is correctly followed within production and create control plans.
  • Conduct End of Run OEE analysis.
  • Review and update quality processes.
  • Set detailed guidelines on what needs to be checked and what the quality standards should be. (Control Plans, PFMEA, etc…)
  • Monitoring in process SPC and generation of Emergency Action Plans.
  • Determine quality metrics for all manufacturing procedures, measure and report these Key Performance Indicators.
  • Develop and implement Manufacturing quality control systems and standards.
  • Investigate and develop quality corrective actions, solutions, and improvements which address the root causes of quality issues
  • Write and implement Quality Plans to meet customer requirements
  • Implement and champion continuous improvement activities
  • Work alongside Nordell Engineering teams to implement new projects smoothly into the business.

SKILLS

  • Degree level education or equivalent in a manufacturing or engineering discipline
  • Preferably a broad industry experience within a relevant production engineering environment, ideally, working with thermoplastics and related finishing operations and processes.
  • A demonstrable deep understanding of component, mould tool, jigs & fixtures design best practice, cause and effects.
  • A broad polymer performance knowledge.
  • Happy to work closely with Customers and customers design teams, using industry best practice to optimise parts through to completion and ongoing successful manufacture.
  • Self-motivated and capable of independent decision making and managing time to meet strict schedules and deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work well in a team environment, delegate and report on project achievable and deadlines
  • Computer literacy: Microsoft Office suite. Ability to understand and work with ERPs and other electronic reporting tools.
  • Hands on problem solver with a track record of improving quality and manufacturing processes using and working within H & S guides, FMEA and experience in using SPC analytical tools.
  • Ability to train and develop multiskilled shop floor mid-management.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, to include technical writing.
  • Able to organise tasks to meet strict deadlines
  • Demonstrable analytical skills
  • Strong presentation skills and be able to effectively present to both small and large groups
  • Goal oriented and confident at liaising with people at all levels.
  • Passion for improvement and results orientated.
  • Ability to create strong and effective relationships at Customer, Director, Management and shop floor levels.
