Reporting To: Head of Technical

 

Responsible for: Toolroom Team

 

Your job will be to assist the Production and Engineering teams with the manufacturing of parts, repairing injection moulding tools, design and manufacture jigs and tooling, along with assisting in maintenance and improvement projects as required.

  • To work as a member of a team and provide technical advice and training to the toolmakers.
  • Commissioning of New Mould Tools, along with assisting in maintenance and improvement projects as required.
  • You will be required to wear Safety shoes as a minimum PPE at all times.
  • There is a long periods where you may be standing on your feet.
  • We manufacture over 4,000 different product lines in total with lots of variation within our product lines.

Main Duties

  • Assembling, fitting, modifying and repairing tools
  • Following engineering drawings to measure and mark out the design for tooling
  • Using of hand tools
  • Using tool room machinery
  • Using 2D and 3D computer aided design and manufacturing software
  • Using precision measurement instruments
  • Identify necessary repairs and improvements
  • Tool maintenance
  • To ensure injection moulding tools meet all specifications as required
  • To support any maintenance and improvement projects required around the business
  • Design and manufacture fixtures, jigs and general tooling for the manufacturing areas.
  • Work to all necessary Health and Safety requirements and report any concerns
  • To work as part of a team and as an individual using your own initiative
  • To maintain good housekeeping practices for the tool room area
  • Check for damages or unusable condition of tools
  • Support and supervise Toolroom Team
