Reporting to: Head of Operations

 

Nordell is one of the UK's leading plastics manufacturing and design refinement companies. We have been established for over 50 years and employ over 150 people at our Worthing based site.

We are looking for an experienced and driven Weekend Shift Manager to join our team.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all goods are produced efficiently, on time and to the required standard during weekend operations.

Experience:

Main Duties

  • Manage daily schedules set by the Department managers, support, and adopt the departments process flows, manage employees on the shift.
  • Manage staffing issues including sickness, absence and any unplanned absences notified or un-notified.
  • Make and communicate necessary correction adjustments for priority to the shift plan, dependant on exceptions and circumstances.
  • Manage staff complaints and resolve conflicts between employees.
  • Assign employees to their duties on the shift and manage their progress behaviours and performance.
  • Ensure daily production goals are met and smooth running of production is maintained.
  • Implement the schedules work for the shift and maintain staff productivity.
  • Train and integrate new workers onto the shift.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to employees when needed, including review of performance.
  • Enforce all Health and Safety and Quality procedures and regulations ensuring these are adhered to.
  • Liaise with department managers closely to ensure maintenance of implemented strategies for specific departments.
  • Ensure effective use of the company IQMS ERP system

SKILLS

  • Previous experience of shift management or similar role.
  • Leadership and conflict management skills
  • Full understanding of industry safety standards
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ERP software
  • The ability to meet physical demands of the job such as standing for long hours.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and work well within a team.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
