Injection Moulding Setter (Nights)

Nordell Ltd is one of the UK's leading privately owned plastics manufacturing and design refinement companies. We are looking for an experienced injection Moulding Setter to support our manufacturing site based in Worthing West Sussex.

 

As a business we have been entrusted with the manufacture of critical components for some of the worlds largest companies for over 50 years.

 

We have a team of 100 employees working across our 24 hour 5 day a week shifts.

We are looking for enthusiastic, driven and experienced Injection Moulding Setter to work in our injection moulding shop and class7 cleanroom in, you would report into our Setting Manager and Head of Production.

Main Duties

  • To set, process and operate machines and carry out tool changes in a safe and responsible manner and to an approved quality standard to achieve minimal reject rates during run while following company procedures.
  • Complete new setting sheets and store program in machine memory.
  • Complete first off check lists for all jobs which includes 5’s, tolerance setting and purge control and scrap booking required at start of job and identify improvement initiatives, eliminating the requirement for return visits from setters.
  • To achieve tasks within the set time to meet departmental targets.
  • Perform safety checks of machines and fill in safety sheets
  • Actively participate in company, product & process improvement activities.
  • To carry out any other reasonable tasks as may be requested from time to time by the setting manager or head of production
  • Good communication skills required to perform a detailed verbal hand over and ability to keep setters daily work board up to date with live information and any issues

SKILLS

  • To have the ability to handle various tasks simultaneously and be able to adapt to changing priorities and urgencies as they arise.
  • Good general education required with numeracy and perception essential.
  • Minimum of 3 years setting experience
  • Minimum of Level 2 qualification in polymer processing and injection moulding
  • Able to complete documents and use setting sheets
  • Good knowledge of various polymers and how to process them
  • An understanding of the ancillary equipment, environment and processes
  • Have a basic understanding of reading technical drawings
  • Have an understanding of SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Dies)
  • Be self-motivated with the ability to cope with change within a busy working environment
  • Strong character and with a positive attitude to motivate others
