Learn More »Nordell is delighted to introduce one of our newest additions to the team. Hayley Williams joined us as our new Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor in December 2021. With more than 15 years’ experience working in the food distribution industry, Hayley is relatively new to the plastics industry. Outside of work she has a real passion for cuisine and athletics. In fact, when she was younger, she used to train on the track with a future Olympic hero. We sat down with Hayley to find out more. Hi Hayley! So, we know you’re relatively new to Nordell. What would you say is your proudest career achievement to date? I think my adaptability and ability to overcome obstacles. Personally, I have had quite a tough few years. So, being able to start again almost and carve out a new career with Nordell is something I’m really proud of. What is the best part of your job? I would say the fact that every day is different is a real ‘plus point’ for me. I love to be kept on my toes! I consider myself to be a problem-solver and genuinely thrive on challenges, so this has been an ideal opportunity to throw myself into a new career with a great company. Can you describe a typical day? My new role mostly sees me creating pick tickets, dispatching goods, dealing with couriers and supervising my team down here in Worthing. Obviously it’s been a big change for me, but I don’t think I’m doing too bad so far! From your previous work experience, what do you think makes Nordell different? I definitely feel like my voice is heard here: as a Nordell employee, I’ve been made to feel like a human rather than just a number. The directors all seem very approachable and I certainly feel appreciated for the work that I do. Tell us something we might not know about you. Well, I recently travelled around nine countries within the space of four months in a self-converted Citroen Berlingo. It was such an amazing adventure. What’s your favourite film? It’s got to be one of my childhood favourites: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I absolutely love that film. It’s just a shame my trusty Citroen couldn’t fly when I was travelling – I could have visited so many more countries! What’s your favourite sport? I’ve always really loved athletics. My sporting hero is Jessica Ennis. I actually used to train with her in my younger days, so it’s great that I was able to have that personal connection with her. And finally, what’s your preferred choice of takeaway? Noooooo, that’s too hard to answer! I’m such a huge foodie I really don’t think I can give just one answer. Food really is my passion and I just love any opportunity I can get to try all the weird and wonderful dishes from around the world.
