Learn More »Quarter 1 heralds the start of a New Year for Nordell. We continue to grow at record levels despite the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and Brexit. With our demand significantly up, we have increased our capacity through the addition of a weekend day shift and a weekend night shift and by adding further resource to our existing day and night shifts. Our employee Headcount has nearly doubled in 6 months, increasing from just over 80 to around 160. Its great to see UK manufacturing in high demand and I am delighted to be able to offer many new opportunities to employees in the manufacturing sector.
In the last quarter we have reviewed all of our team structures to ensure focus on delivering what matters most to our customers. We are still looking to recruit: Setters, Toolmakers, Quality Technicians and Operators, all which will grow our headcount to over 200 in the coming months.
Demand for cleanroom manufacturing has still continues to be very strong, however we are now also seeing very strong demand across a range of sectors including industrial, electronics and Marine. Demand for assembly and sub assembly is also growing strongly and will soon be supported with increased capacity in Q2.
Our 300m2 cleanroom is now complete with the last of our 15 new machines arriving on the 1st April and commissioned by Premier Moulding Machinery.
Our factory space has changed completely in the last 6 months with our Worthing site now looking very different. With the building work nearly complete and our goods storage area now complete the factory is approaching the end of the disruption. Again, I would like to thank the Nordell team for continuing to operate as normal through the building work and disruption.
As we approach the spring and now start to see the unlocking of Covid-19 restrictions, we look forward to regaining our personal liberties and returning to some sort of normality in the months ahead.
Best regards and keep safe
Paul Mason, Managing Director.
