Transfer Your Tooling To Nordell

Are you in the process of rethinking your manufacturing partnerships, considering repatriation from overseas, or simply seeking a new home for your existing mould tooling?

At Nordell, we understand the critical importance of a seamless transition when moving your tooling and parts manufacture to a new supplier.

With a wealth of experience in managing complex moves, we offer a comprehensive solution tailored to your needs.

When you choose Nordell as your supply chain partner, you can transfer your tooling with confidence, knowing that our team will handle every aspect of the process.

From coordinating with your current supplier and managing transport logistics to meticulously assessing tool condition and optimising tool performance, we ensure a smooth transition that prioritises continuity and reliability.

Transfer Your Tooling With Confidence

Over the past few years, we have seen a steady increase in customers who wish to repatriate current manufacture to the UK for various reasons.

Nordell has vast experience in managing these complex moves on your behalf.

Our priority is to ensure you are never left short of parts to maintain your product builds.

We will agree on a plan and lead time for moving your current tooling with enough contingency for any unforeseen delays.

Our Tooling Transfer Process

To help ensure the seamless transfer of your tooling, our team will do the following:

  • Liaise with your current supplier to agree on a date to collect your tooling.
  • Arrange the necessary transport and any paperwork, including customs clearance, where required.
  • Help manage the lead times for delivery to our site (lead times will vary depending on the location of your tooling. Typically, the lead time for repatriating tooling from the Far East will be a couple of months, including customs clearance and some "wiggle room" built-in.)

On your tool's arrival at our Nordell site, we will:

  • Book your tooling onto our ERP system, giving your tool a unique serial number and a storage location in our tool store.
  • Open your tool in our toolroom and take a full set of photographs showing the tool's condition on arrival.
  • Complete a full, free-of-charge tool service and condition report, which we will share and discuss with you.
  • Recommend and carry out repair work if necessary (we will discuss recommendations and provide a competitive quote for approval before any repairs are undertaken).
  • Offer recommendations to improve the performance of your tool where we believe modifications could improve the quality and cost of manufacturing parts.

Once your tool is ready, we will move it to our mould shop and cycle some parts for your approval.

We will check the parts against your drawing as well as the parts' critical features and dimensions in our metrology department using our Vision non-contact Measuring Machine.

If you require a full PPAP, we can provide you with a quote for this service.
