Harnessing Sunshine for Sustainability

We are thrilled about our recent venture into sustainable energy generation.

Nestled in the sunny county of West Sussex, Nordell’s plastic injection moulding facility in Worthing is now basking in the glow of renewable energy, thanks to the installation of high-tech solar panels.

The county boasts some of the highest sunshine hours recorded in the UK, providing an optimal environment for solar energy production.

Nordell's solar panels are capitalising on this abundant resource, turning sunlight into tangible environmental and commercial benefits.

A Greener Future

The transition to cleaner and more sustainable practices is a journey we've eagerly embraced.

Nordell's 800 solar panels are now generating 270 kW of clean energy on-site.

This is not just a symbolic move; it's a game-changer in our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and operating more sustainably.

While the upfront investment in the solar panels was substantial, we are already witnessing a reduction in our energy costs, helping to mitigate other supply chain cost increases.

The decision to invest in solar power is proving to be a strategic one, having generated more than one-third of our total energy requirements since they were commissioned in the Spring of 2023.

The initial capital outlay for our solar panels is expected to be recouped within a year and a half, a testament to the long-term benefits of investing in renewable energy.

Nordell’s solar panels are not just a symbol of environmental responsibility but also a sound business decision.

As we move forward, we are excited about our solar panels' positive impact on our operations and the environment.

This initiative aligns with our broader commitment to sustainability, and we hope it serves as an inspiration for other businesses to explore eco-friendly alternatives.
